Abstract

|
Glomus tumor is an uncommon benign tumor found usually in the subungal area, but it can be found anywhere throughout the body. The typical clinical findings are lancing pain, tenderness and cold hypersensitivity. When diagnosis is made appropriately, excision is the treatment of choice and it rarely recurs postoperatively if it is completely removed, resulting in immediate pain relief. But because of its low incidence and variability of location, glomus tumor is frequently misdiagnosed and inadequately managed. The authors experienced a case of glomus tumor found in the middle of the left forearm. The patient had a 4¡¿4§® sized red round mass at the anterior surface of the left forearm accompanied by lancing pain, severe tenderness and cold hypersensitivity Complete excision was done and the patient was disease-free of 1 year
follow-up.
